The next few weeks will result in the usual dilemma - what to wear as the seasons change. There's always that tricky decision around this time - when shall I finally put away those summer clothes and wear the new autumn looks? Even more difficult with the strange weather we're having - sun, rain, wind then sun all within one day sometimes within the hour!(miss b's tip - never leave home without a bobochic scarf or pashmina in your bag!!)

PRINTS - SPOTS, CIRCLES, SWIRLS......
Circles, swirls, polka dots and winter florals -the autumn/winter 2011-12 catwalks were a rich collage of print and pattern.
There's definitely been an outbreak of spots as seen at Marc Jacobs, Stella McCartney etc. The fastest (and cheapest) way to get the look? Invest in a pair of polka dot tights or a bobochic polka dot silk scarf to tie around your neck or handbag!

MONOCHROME CHIC
Black and white are just meant to go together and the combination is a perennial favourite but next season texture is also a big trend so mixing fabrics-silk, satin, wool, lace and leather will create a modern twist. Monochrome was also given a sixties spin on the catwalk with Peter Pan collars and tunics.

SIXTIES TREND
Wear coats with bracelet sleeves with polonecks, miniskirts and knee-high boots or dainty kitten heels. Sixties style icons Mary Quant and Twiggy inspire this new season look.
JEWEL TONES
Although there was plenty of black and autumnal shades of rust, forest green and camel on the catwalks, it was the jewel tones which made a striking appearance. At Ralph Lauren, Gucci and DVF there was one colour head-to-toe, shades of jade and rich ruby red. There's been a move away from summer's acid brights and vivid colour popping. For autumn winter it's all about the sophisticated colours of precious gems including amethyst, sapphire, emerald, citrine, ruby and garnet.

SEVENTIES SOPHISTICATION
Rich colours and autumnal tones with luxe fabrics add sophistication to this retro look and give it a more modern twist with burgundy, rust, ochre and mustard making a return. Palazzo pants, maxi dresses and floppy wide-brimmed hats are a must. (This look is not about '70s hippy flower power!)

SPARKLE
If the new trend of head-to-toe oversized sequins and lurex is too much, let your accessories do the sparkling, with lurex clutch bags and sparkly shoes.

ANIMAL PRINTS
Animal prints continue to be a huge trend this season with designers including D&G and Gucci. Leopard and snakeskin dresses and blouses are now appearing on the high street but if all over animal print seems too much add a leopard print scarf or pashmina to update your look.

STAR PRINTS
D&G's star print long silk chiffon dress made a bold statement on the catwalk and the high street has been quick to pick up on the trend including Zara with their striking jumpsuit. For a more understated look wear a star print accessory..........

HERITAGE
Embrace the country look with tweed, tartan, herringbone and houndstooth checks together with riding boots and a classic silk scarf.
