Since the British colonial rule, Singaporeans have enjoyed the English tradition of High Tea. The iconic Raffles Singapore has one of the most famous High Teas in the world and I too followed that tradition (a few years ago on a quick tour of Singapore) in the Tiffin room with tea, finger sandwiches, chicken pies and pastries followed by the famed Singapore Sling cocktail which was apparently created by a Raffles bartender at the turn of the 19th century.

Raffles Dubai has recently introduced the ultimate 21st century Afternoon Tea with a fashionable twist-‘The Collection’. As soon as I read the publicity I knew I had to try it and I was even more impressed with my fashionable tea than the traditional version.
But it was not just about design! Everything tasted amazing and the service, as you would expect from Raffles, was spot on. A truly memorable and 'chic' experience!
The attention to detail was incredible with designer sandwiches and couture cakes in the shape of handbags, shoes, dresses and hats. My favourites included the smoked salmon tea dress with cream cheese bodice, the chocolate almond stiletto and the white chocolate passion fruit evening bag. They looked so perfect and too beautiful to eat(at first!) but with photos taken they were soon impossible to resist.
Several cups of tea later including Earl Grey, Emirates Spice,Moroccan Mint Tea,Ginger ...(so many to choose and taste)and we still hadn't touched the shortbread sundress with matching slipper or the key lime flat brim sun hat...oh and the ganache praline jewellery box!
