Last Tuesday evening we headed over to Oldham Coliseum Theatre to watch Ladies' Day.....
Ladies' Day, written by Amanda Whittington, is about four factory women from a Hull fish-filleting factory enjoying a glamorous day at the races......Royal Ascot in 2005 when Ascot temporarily moved up to York.
They swap their plastic aprons and hairnets...

.....for their best dresses and fancy hats....

A lively play with an excellent cast portraying some strong northern characters .... There was plenty of laughter from start to finish and a few surprising revelations along the way!
Meet the wonderful ladies in this short clip...
Coming soon to the Coliseum.....

* The Oldham Coliseum Theatre dates back to 1885 and was surrounded by a dozen others but the award-winning Coliseum is now the only surviving theatre in the town.
I love seeing how culture translates into art and theatre, this seems like a great show, so animated!
ReplyDeleteHi miss b,
ReplyDeleteFound you! I love scarves (got a big collection) bags, and shoes, and I've lived in the Middle East, and originally from the Far East so I thought we'll have lots to talk about :)
Just wanted to say hello and see you again next time :)

Hi sweety, I appreciated hearing your feedback on my last post :)
ReplyDeleteI looks like a fun show to watch with the girls.
ReplyDeleteSounds a blast! Good singing?
ReplyDeleteNot much singing but plenty of laughter!
DeleteIt sounds like a wonderful play. I like to watch movies like this. Women's personalities are all different, and it's nice to see them bond with all the differences they have.
