I have always loved espadrilles ever since I bought my first traditional pair from the local village store in Les Eglisottes, north of Bordeaux, during one of my earliest visits (aged 14) to my French friend's house - they were very similar to these .........

Now of course they come in all fabrics and designs including platforms and wedges. I couldn't resist this pair last summer from Vincci in Dubai. I like the neutral canvas, navy and white striped interior and the cute bow at the back .......They have hardly been worn as, once back in the UK, the rainy summer didn't really lend itself to wearing them........
