miss b loves.........giant Easter eggs in Manchester

A couple of weeks ago as we were walking through Manchester City Centre we came across some beautiful giant Easter eggs. They were part of The Big Egg Hunt sponsored by Lindt chocolates raising money for Action for Children, a UK charity.

101 eggs designed by leading artists had been dotted about the city centre. The range of designs was fascinating and I was on a mission to track them down even though this was meant to be a shopping trip!! It was a cold, wet day but we still persevered although we certainly didn't find them all!!

As it's Easter Weekend I thought I would show you a few of our favourites from cute.....to quirky.....

Butterfly Catchers by Rheannon Ormond

Equinox by Barbie Harrison

Century Egg by Will Daw

Skeleton Hug by Jo Lynn

The Big Estate by Thibaud Hérem

Tie Dye Egg by Lindsey Bull

Fancy by Eleanor Wright

A Frugal Meal by Charlie Billington

The Explorers by Luke Best

Last year The Big Egg Hunt was only in London but I'm so pleased that this year it has been touring the UK visiting major cities giving more people the opportunity to take part.

The eggs have now returned to London and will be in Covent Garden until Sunday 7th April. There's an online auction here where people are bidding for their favourites. You can see all the eggs here

Happy Easter to you all!

Look who I spotted visiting our garden a few days ago........

  23. What a great campaign for charity, they look beautiful, never seen anything like it before. I wonder if something similar took place here in Birmingham and I didn't realize - that's a shame.

aaaw that is so cute and coincidental to spot a wee 'bunny' in the garden at this time of year ha ha

    Happy Easter

And I'm so glad that you shared these eggs with all of us, this is such a clever project and for a wonderful cause, too! I would love to bring the Tie Dye Egg home, if only I thought I could find space for it in my Parisian apartment and, later, transport it back to Canada :)
