Finally on Saturday we had a dry, sunny day and the first opportunity to try out our new folding Brompton bikes. Into the car they went and off to Lytham St Annes, just twenty minutes from home, for a safe ride along the coastal path.
A quick stop.........
.....and then it was back on the bikes towards the landmark windmill.....
......no time for rowing......
Time to fold up the bikes........
I'm so impressed with the way it folds and pleased that I finally opted for matt black.(I had considered cobalt blue or Turkish green...so many colours to choose from. They even have claret - 'so this season' ha ha! The colour, of course, was a major decision!!)
We couldn't resist a stroll along the deserted beach....
to the sand dunes.......
Amazing blue sky.......hard to believe this is October in the North of England!!!!......I hope this weather lasts......

DeleteWhat a beautiful day you had, I love all these pictures, the sky is just perfect, the way I like, beautiful shaped white clouds and blues. I love your bike too! I am back from Dubai, thought about you and your post when I was there, unfortunately there was no free time after work hours, always dinner with colleagues, so I couldn't visit much around. But I had my Laduree macarons in the special Dubai box : ) And I saw the metro stations from far and thought about your post : )
ReplyDeleteThat's so nice of you to have thought about me and my Dubai posts! Maybe next time you will have more free time to explore. I shall be in Dubai in less than two weeks and I'm sure I'll be visiting Ladurée yet again - can't resist those macarons!
DeleteOh wow! so lucky to have such a beautiful landscape to enjoy while riding a bike!

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing how the bikes fold up like that!! The scenery that you got to look at while riding is beautiful. You know, Jess bought bikes for Nel and her husband for their wedding gift. They have enjoyed riding them. I used to be a bike rider, but back then they were called mountain bikes. Have a lovely Sunday.

Macarons and Pearls
Thank you for stopping past my blog and leaving a comment. I was just reading through this post and when I spotted your bike, it reminded me of the one which my sister has which she carted back on the plane from Hong Kong which I thought was a bit mad of her at the time. Having said that, I think I may need to borrow it and try a day out cycling with the boys. Lovely blog. Am now following.
ReplyDeleteYou should definitely borrow it and I can guarantee you will want your own! Thanks, Sue for deciding to follow.
DeleteThanks everyone for taking the time to comment. We are lucky to live so near to the coast and I think we often take it for granted but good weather does make a difference. Another bike ride last Sunday (blue skies again!)
ReplyDeleteAmazing pics. Great. So nice nature.

First time to your blog today via your recent post on About Last Weekend. And now your most recent Follower - just missing #200 by a bit, lucky 213!
ReplyDeleteConservative black a classic. I purchased an orange Public bike last year on a whim. It makes me smile, being so impulsive about a bike, and its color. :-)
Look forward to reading more of your posts, Cheers!
I can't tell you how long it took to decide on the colour of the bike - and then in the end it was black! The salesperson was so patient!! So lovely to see that you have decided to follow - thank you.
